India Rushton-Dray

India Rushton-Dray short bio

India is a born and bred Londoner, she grew up in Battersea but spent 3 years on the wild shores of  Tybee Island – Savannah, Georgia. A few years later she graduated from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, where she studied Drama BA(hons). Devising, performance art and stage craft were at the heart of her studies.

After graduation India spent 9 months touring Germany with White Horse Theatre in  three plays: Oliver Twist, The weasel in the sack &  We love Gary.

Earlier this year she was thrilled to have been offered the opportunity to play Masha in Ward No.6 based on Chekhov’s novella, which brought together his various characters within the construct of an early 20th century mental institution. She also has experience in stage management, directing, lighting and sound design, and creative writing.

India is currently enjoying a 6 month tour in Germany with White Horse Theatre. She is excited to be on the road and looks forward to expanding her skill set, especially with puppetry and storytelling.
